Silly me… September 9, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lily @ 11:36 pm

Mom and I were out playing, I was racing around like an idiot (I like to pretend I’m going to knock Mom down and then veer off at the last second) when I saw The Treat Lady come out of her house across the street.  I was still in mid-air as I looked to Mom for permission to cross the street and when she laughed and said go ahead, I did but I forgot to get squared up before I leaped again and I pulled the blasted muscle in my shoulder… again…  BOL  I’ve got arthritis in that shoulder and I should know better than to try to leap and twist and run at the same time.  Leap and run, yes.  Leap and twist, no.  Mom gave me some Metacam and I’m feeling a bit groggy so it’s working!  I should be okay by morning– I hope.  Tomorrow’s my favorite nursing home day plus I promised another Buddy Brigader, Darby, that I’d take his shift tomorrow night.  His mom just had knee surgery and she’s not allowed to walk around much yet.

Ya know what?  I lied– I’m not a bit groggy– I’m a lot groggy!  G’night…  🙂

  1. G’day Buddy

OK .. so while you are a LOT groggy … repeat this over and over and over and over and over … “Leap and run, yes. Leap and twist, NO.”!

I hope you are feeling lots better soon.

    Cheers

BOL Thanks, Charlie! I am feeling better this morning. Mom said she’s going to keep me home from the nursing home this morning so I can go see the kids tonight. I’d rather go to the children’s hospital anyway, know what I mean?

    Woof Buddy

Yeah, we do that to our Mom too. Just head straight for her and break off at the last minute. It took her a few years to learn that the best thing she could do was to stand still when we do that. She use to move and then it would be a big mess cause we’d know her down or spill her beer or something. But she finally learned. Anyway, you take care of that shoulder and milk it for all it’s worth.

Thanks, guys, but I can’t milk it too much– as Mom’s service dog, she needs me to be of sound mind AND BODY at all times. I can’t do my job if she’s afraid to lean on me for fear she might hurt me.

And four against one, huh!?! Bet you have your mom right where you want her! BOL
