My roomies… August 1, 2008

This is Harry. Harriet Hateful Houdini. Harry was given to my Mom about a year after she got me. Mom named the bird Harry Houdini because there wasn’t a door on the cage that bird couldn’t open! At first, Harry was very nice and would sing and chirp and sit on Mom’s finger. But birdy puberty hit and we found out Harry was Harriet (she actually started laying eggs!) and she turned mean. Now, instead of sitting on Mom’s fingers, Harry tries to bite big chunks out of them! She still sings and mimics sounds. Her favorite is the ring tone of Mom’s old phone! Her favorite toys are an old bell (the bright copper one by her head) and a large key ring Mom hung from the top of the cage. Harry actually sleeps IN the ring! She may be hateful, but she’s fun to listen to. I don’t pay her much mind but she can drive Mom nuts by ringing that bell for hours on end!

And this is Setra. She’s a Chilean Rose tarantula. Mom thinks she’s a female because males only live two or three years and she’s had Setra for almost eight years now. I could care less about a spider but Mom likes to sit and watch her. Mom says it’s very relaxing, watching Setra walk around or eat a cricket. That’s what she eats– crickets. About a half dozen two or three times a year. She’s a very high maintenance pet! BOL

And this? This is me and my Mom in the doorway of the duplex we share with Harry and Setra. To my right is the kitchen, to my left is the living room, and behind us are two bedrooms and the bathroom. Just right for my our little family!
